ABOUT CAPE PEAS FROM MADAGASCARThe Cape pea or lima bean from the Latin name " Phaseolus lunatus" climbing or not, is a bean which produces more or less large grains, with a creamy melting texture. The seed is used fresh or dried. In Madagascar, the Cape pea with a white grain type had been obtained thanks to the establishment, before the Second World War, of a system of seed storage granaries. Madagascar has the great advantage of being the only country producing Cape peas. However, there is a similar pea, but smaller in size, which is grown in Latin America and the United States: the Lima Bean.
